A huge congratulations to Linda, Sammy and our awesome Canberra arts colleagues whose practice was recognised at the 2021 Canberra Critics Circle Awards this week! 🥳Linda Buck, our amazing Technical Manager, took out a theatre award for her lighting design on the Belco Arts production, "Mess" and Sammy Moynihan, Live Programs Officer at Belco Arts with his team at @rebustheatre were acknowledged for the great work they've been doing over the past year.We'd also like to congratulate @liz19lea on her award for "The Point" that premiered at Belco Arts earlier this year and @stephenharrison1963 for his award for the exhibition "You Want It Darker" presented in the new Pivot Gallery at Belco Arts.And finally, a big congratulations to Palawa writer and dramaturg @dylan.r.vdb took home two awards including the Helen Tsongas Award for Excellence in Acting. We are so excited to be working with Dylan as the writer for our upcoming production, "Ngadjung" 😍

Introducing Melanie Lane, one of the awesome new artists in the UC and Belco Arts Creative Recovery and Resilience Residencies program!Melanie is an Australian choreographer and performer of Euro/Javanese heritage and has been selected as the Mid-Career/Established Artist-in-Residence for Digital Innovation. She has collaborated with artists from film, visual art, theatre and music, creating works that tread between performative forms and contexts. Her independent work has been presented at international festivals and theatres in Europe. We are so excited to announce that Kirsten Wehner has been selected as one of our Creative Recovery and Resilience Residents! Kirsten is an Australian relational artist/designer, cultural producer, curator and writer and will be joining us as the Cross-Sector Engagement (Mid-Career/Established) Artist in Residence.Her practice centres on collaborating with human and non-human communities to create art installations, speculative designs and participatory experiences that celebrate, sustain and transform people’s connections to and care for natural environments. Miriam (they/them) is a Canberra based Queer inter

Miriam (they/them) is a Canberra based Queer interdisciplinary artist who will be working with us in our new UC and Belco Arts’ Creative Recovery and Resilience Residencies. Miriam works primarily with theatre, comedy and live art and has been selected as the Emerging Artist-in-Residence for Cross-Sector Engagement.With an Honours in Visual Arts from the Australian National University, their work is often concerned with Queer identity, representation and community. They have won numerous Fringe Awards with their comedy duo Sweaty Pits, as well as Little Dove Theatre Art’s 2019 performance of Evangeline. They have performed and directed nationally and internationally, most recently working with Brisbane’s physical theatre company Zen Zen Zo.
