Learn How to Be a Picture Book Illustrator with Bee and Me
If you’ve always had a character you want to illustrate or a story idea you’d like to explore, this workshop is for you. In this hands-on session, picture book illustrator, Nina Rycroft, will guide you through brainstorming ideas, developing your characters, and creating a final watercolour artwork. You’ll design and paint “Bee and Me” (or adapt the process to your own characters), explore how to show their relationship and story through pictures, and experiment with composition before finishing a final piece. By the end, you’ll have a completed artwork, a series of character sketches and a picture book story concept to build on.
All materials are supplied.

More about our 2026 Infuse workshops
The Fabric of Imagination – Creativity for Adults 18+
In 2026, INFUSE invites you to explore the many ways creativity can take shape. From drawing, collage, stitching, and paper arts, to puppetry, music, storytelling, poetry, and soundscapes, each workshop encourages participants to experiment, play, and make connections between ideas, materials, sound and senses. Led by professional artists, INFUSE workshops are designed for adults 18+ of all creative skill levels. You’ll be guided through hands-on activities inspired by the artists’ own practices, giving you the tools, techniques, and confidence to explore new ways of expressing yourself and unlocking your creativity. INFUSE 2026 is about the joy of making, the power of play, and the many threads that connect our stories, voices, and-of course- our imagination.
