Mingle Community Space, Suburban Land Agency Display Village and Innovation Precinct
3 Klaus Moje Street, Whitlam, ACT 2611
1pm – 3pm Sunday 20 September 2026
$15 per person | Workshop size: 8 | Ages 16+
Duration: 120 minutes
As part of Belco Arts’ MORE OR LESS exhibition at the SLA Display Village, join us for a hands-on Paper Pulp workshop exploring how to make paper from recycled materials.
Led by local artist Sasha Trail, you’ll learn the basics of paper pulp-making using fibrous, plant-based materials such as egg cartons, textiles, card, flower petals, cut fabric, and leaves. The paper you create can be used for drawing, printing, writing or sculpting.
Enjoy a cuppa with your neighbours as you add MORE or LESS to your handmade paper.
This is a relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop for ages 16+. No prior experience is required — just bring along any interesting materials you’d like to include.

About Sasha Trail
Sasha Trail is an artist and illustrator based at her home studio in central Canberra. Her practice spans several mediums, driven by a curiosity for slow and ritualistic making processes. With a keen eye for observational studies, her paper pulp series marks a new direction towards the exploration of reclaimed fibres and a focus on construction from destruction. The work’s undulating forms echo the dunes and waves of the Australian landscape, a shape that repeats in nature the same way her hands repeat the act of making, batch after batch.
Sasha graduated from Australian National University School of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Design in 2021. She has since worked as a graphic designer, illustrator and arts administrator, and exhibited across several Canberra galleries.
