Thursday Creative Space
Term 4 2023: 12 October – 14 December
Common Ground, 130 The Valley Avenue Gungahlin
Drop in price: $10 per week or $5 concession.
Term pass: $80 for a 10 week term or $40 concession.
Join Gungahlin Arts and carve out some weekly time for creativity in a safe and supportive environment. Sessions will be lightly facilitated by professional artists, and there will be prompts and activities to help you get started if you need a bit of creative inspiration.
You are encouraged to bring along your own creative project to work on in the company of others – this can be anything you like, from stitching to writing, drawing to printmaking or any other medium you desire.* But don’t worry if you’re feeling a bit stuck there will be support available to help you get started on your creative journey.
It’s a great opportunity to chat about your work, be inspired by the creativity around you, and connect with other like-minded people. Artists of all abilities and skill levels are warmly welcomed and a selection of basic art materials will be available to work with for those who need them. Tea and coffee will also be provided.
Purchase a discounted term pass if you want to commit to offering yourself this creative time each week, or a weekly ticket if you want to drop in for a session when it suits you.
*In order to keep the space safe for all users, there are a few restrictions on materials we can use in this venue – no toxic or solvent-based materials are allowed (for example oil paints, alcohol inks, strong glues) and any electrical equipment you bring (for example sewing machines or laptops) must have a current electrical safety tag. If you’re not sure if your project is suitable, you can contact Gungahlin Programs Officer Michele Grimston on 0403 929 739 or firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss.
