Lani Shea-An is a multidisciplinary artist based a

Lani Shea-An is a multidisciplinary artist based at her studio in ANCA Dickson, Canberra. With a background in painting, her practice has expanded to include collage, drawing, printmaking and artist books. Her mixed media works weave layers of found materials into ambiguous landscapes, each carrying its own personal history. Like finding telltale shapes in clouds, these imagined landscapes reveal themselves differently to each viewer, drawing on individual memory and experience.⁠

Lani graduated with honours from the ANU School of Art and Design in 2019, and has since exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across Australia and Japan. Her work is held in private and public collections including the Drill Hall Gallery ANU Art Collection.⁠

Lani's work features in our offsite exhibition 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘓𝘦𝘴𝘴⁠, a group exhibition about the relationship between scale, quantity and the awe an artwork can stir, presented across three @suburbanlandagency display homes in Whitlam.⁠

These paintings are the journeys he has taken across Country, the places he has immersed himself, the feelings experienced, age old dreaming stories and his inherent need to share these stories through his love of painting. ⁠
⁠
Richie wants to encourage people to view his work and then take the time to go to these places and experience the power and learn more about Ngunnawal Country for themselves.⁠
⁠
Painting for Richie becomes another means of storytelling and how he enjoys sharing his personal journeys on Country. They provide new perspectives for viewing the land he so loves, Ngunna Dhaara.⁠
