Our second exciting guest judge for Sculpture@Shaw is... Sarah Schmidt!! Sarah is the current Director at the Canberra Museum and Gallery and will be joining Graeme Shaw, Monika McInerney and Genevieve Jacobs on the 2021 judging panel.Sarah is an art historian, curator and practitioner who has specialised in public gallery directorship, from leading two Commonwealth collections, to Deputy Directorship of the Art Gallery of Ballarat - one of the top five collections of Australian art - to Directorship of Hamilton Gallery.She has curated shows of exciting emerging artists, a sector she actively supports, plus major solo exhibitions of noted Australian artists including Ah Xian, Cressida Campbell, Mirka Mora, Patricia Piccinini, John Wolseley.Entries for Sculpture@Shaw are open until 28 May: belcoarts.com.au/shawImage credit: Canberra Times

We are so excited to introduce our first judge for Sculpture@Shaw, longtime supporter and advocate for the arts in Canberra, Genevieve Jacobs!Genevieve Jacobs has been a journalist for 30 years, working in print and radio. Her career began with rural newspapers on the South West Slopes, she spent a decade with ABC Radio Canberra and is now the group editor for Region Media.She chairs the ACT arts minister's Creative Council, co-chairs the ACT Reconciliation Council and also sits on the Cultural Facilities Corporation board and a number of other arts advisory bodies. In 2021, she was awarded an AM in the Australia Day honours list for her services to broadcasting and the community.Genevieve will be joining Graeme Shaw, Owner and Director of Shaw Wines and Monika McInerney Artistic Director and Co-CEO of Belco Arts on the judging panel.Entries are open until 28 May for Sculpture@Shaw: belcoarts.com.au/shaw
