Our Town: Individual Entry Form

Marketplace Gungahlin

Individual entries are open to anyone 18 years or younger who lives, works, attends school or care in the Gungahlin region. Individuals can submit up to 3 entries and will be eligible for the people’s choice award in the individual category ($300).


Conditions of Entry – Individuals

Artwork Specifications:

  • Artworks must be submitted as a square format digital image, which will be professionally printed by Belco Arts for this exhibition.
  • Artworks can be created in any two dimensional medium so long as you can upload it, or take a photo of it an upload it to our online portal.
  • Image files must be at lease 2mb in size and submitted at 300dpi.

  • The works must relate to the exhibition theme Our Town. Works which do not relate to this theme will not be exhibited.
  • The works must be the original work of the entering artist, with no AI components or assistance.
  • The works must have been created after October 2023.

Who can enter?

  • Entries are accepted from anyone 18 years or under who lives, works or attends school or care in the Gungahlin region (Amaroo, Bonner, Casey, Crace, Forde, Franklin, Gungahlin, Harrison, Jacka, Kenny, Mitchell, Moncrieff, Ngunnawal, Nicholls, Palmerston, Taylor, Throsby.
  • Entrants must be 18 or under at the time the artwork was created
  • Each artist can enter up to three works in the individual category.  Artworks which are submitted as part of a group entry by a school or community group do not count towards this total. 
  • Entrants must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to include their work in the exhibition, and must provide contact details for the parent/guardian in their entry.

Fees, Judging and Prizes:

  • There is no entry fee to be part of the exhibition.
  • One winning entry in the individual category will be selected as the winner via a people’s choice vote.
  • Voting will take place during the exhibition, from 11-26 October 2022, and winners will be announced on Saturday 26 October 2024 at the Celebrate Gungahlin Festival
  • All members of the public are eligible to vote.  Only one vote per person will be accepted.
  • The winner of the individual category will receive a prize of $300.
  • If no entries are received for a particular category, the prize for that category will not be issued.

Copyright and image reproduction:

  • Copyright for all entries remains with the artist
  • By entering the exhibition, you also grant Belco Arts and Marketplace Gungahlin the right to reproduce your image for display in this exhibition as an unframed, 30 x 30cm poster print. 
  • By entering the exhibition, you give consent to use images of your work for the purpose of media, promotional, reporting and documentation purposes relating to the Celebrate Gungahlin Festival by Belconnen Arts Centre Incorporated or Arts ACT (ACT Government) or Marketplace Gungahlin for a period of 2 years from the submission of your entry .
  • Submitting your entry does not guarantee that the photograph/ image will be used for this purpose and if it is used, copies of material will not be sent prior to publication.
  • Artists will be fully credited on all image reproductions and we will not reproduce the image beyond what has been specified above without the express consent of the artist.

Other conditions of entry:

  • The works must not be offensive, discriminatory or otherwise hurtful in nature.  Works that are considered not appropriate will not be displayed at the sole discretion of Belco Arts
  • Belco Arts reserves the right not to exhibit works.
  • Artworks will not be offered for sale through this exhibition.  All enquiries related to the purchase of original works will be forwarded directly to the artist
  • Individual entries must be submitted through the online portal and must be received by midnight on Sunday 29 September.  Any artworks received after this time will not be included in the exhibition.
