Bookings open one month before the workshop date

Students will learn basic relief printing techniques, including how to cut and ink a lino block, how to pull a print without a printing press, and how to maintain tools. In this process students will also learn to transfer their drawing onto the block, which tools and designs work best for the graphic style of a relief print, and how to choose and prepare paper.

About John Hart

John Hart is a painter and printmaker who graduated with Honours from the Printmedia and Drawing workshop of the ANU School of Art in 2010.

Following graduation, John worked as studio manager at Megalo Print Studio for 8 years, was a member and President of the Southern Highlands Printmakers for many years, and has been both printmaker and artist in residence at the Art Vault, Mildura. John continues to teach printmaking and has maintained an active arts practise from his studio in Gungahlin.

No Place Like Home is a series of affordable, creative workshops that invite Woden and Gungahlin residents to connect with and shape the place they call home.

No Place Like Home workshops are open to all levels of artistic experience. Workshops are designed with adults in mind, but passionate children and young people are welcome too. However, please note that all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings for each workshop will open one month prior to the start date.
