Invocation

Creative development showing

8pm Saturday 26 June 2021

$20 per person

Creative development showing, suitable for all ages.
Running time: 1 hour, no interval.

Invocation calls in the sacred to restore the dance of life, nature’s patterns of regeneration and the natural rhythms and harmonies between people and Earth. Awestruck by Earth’s fury and kindliness, Invocation brings ancient story, sacred imagery, rhythmic dance, heavy guitar grooves, heartfelt lyrics and soaring harmonies into the drama of climate change. The five artists of Earthbound are the inaugural recipients of Belco Art’s Rhizome Performing Arts Residency. Invocation is their end-of-residency creative development showing. Their theatre consultant is Elizabeth Cameron Dalman OAM, assisted by Craig San Roque. They are joined by A Chorus of Women.

Who are Earthbound?

Dancer-photographer Courtney Allen, visual artist Sally Blake, storyteller-singer-composer Glenda Cloughley, singer-songwriter-musical director Johanna McBride and musician-performance poet Danny Pratt.
