We are committed to your safety. Workshops at Belco Arts are well ventilated and have a maximum capacity of 13 people, including the tutor. Individual workspaces are socially distanced, with masks and hand sanitiser readily available. We encourage workshop participants to be fully vaccinated, including booster vaccinations where possible, and highly recommend the use of masks when in workshops (even if not required by ACT health directives). Make treasured, keepsake art dolls for children and loved ones.
No need for a sewing machine here! You will be guided by artist Estelle Anderson through hand sewing skills and embroidery, using your own collection of “treasures” and recycled fabrics to make at least one art doll by the end of the course.
No experience in hand-stitching is required, just a willingness to learn and a love for unique and handmade dolls.
Introduction to basic hand stitching and fabric collage.

Embellishments, hair, clothes.

About Estelle Anderson
Estelle Anderson is an experienced mixed media artist who enjoys drawing, ink and watercolour, collaging, journaling and stitching. In 2018, Estelle exhibited a textile installation in an exhibition in Lawrence, Kansas. She has completed two creative doll-making courses in the last 12 months. In October, 2021 her mermaid handmade dolls featured in an exhibit at Chutespace, M16 in Griffith. She also has extensive experience as an adult educator.
