Companion House is a health service assisting refugees and asylum seekers in the ACT. This class will take place at Belconnen Arts Centre.

If you are interested to grow your dance teaching skills, please consider this great offer from Ausdance ACT during Dance Week, who are funding a unique 3 hour training program developing your awareness of how to best teach dance to people of all ages, from refugee/trauma backgrounds.

The program will cover:

  • The refugee experience
  • Trauma impact and effects
  • Framework for trauma and recovery
  • Practical strategies for recovery (recovery goals)
  • Self-care for practitioners

Intending applicants should complete the application form below and submit by 4pm Thursday 29 April 2021. Successful applicants will be notified the following day. Places are limited to 20 participants.
