Belonging – A Community Arts Project
3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 August
Gunners Place Youth Space, Gungahlin Marketplace, Entry via Gungahlin Place
Free, no bookings required
Calling all young people aged 12-25 in Gungahlin.
Want to be part of a fun community arts project to help make Gunners Place a space that’s inclusive and welcoming for all young people?
Join artists Pinal and Gladys from the Migrant Women’s Art Group to collectively create a banner artwork for Gungahlin’s new youth space that explores identity, belonging and what living in Canberra means to you. Get creative and learn new techniques including fabric collage and stitching and express yourself through art.
You can come for one session or all 5 – these are drop-in workshops, and you are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you like.
This project is a safe space for people of all backgrounds, and we welcome every human. Culturally diverse, LGBTQIA+, disabled and neurodiverse folk are welcome and encouraged to join.
This project is supported by the ACT Government, and Multicultural Hub Canberra and is delivered by members of the Migrant Women’s Art Group, with the support of Kiran Grewal
