IGNITE Moves: Group of artists moving

With Anaïs Maro

Update due to coronavirus

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, we are postponing all IGNITE classes presented by Belconnen Arts Centre for the foreseeable future. Your health and safety are the most important things to us, and we will be working as quickly as we can to find ways to redesign the program so it can be presented safely. We will do everything we can to keep the classes connected during the coming weeks while it isn’t possible for us to come together in person. We will keep you up to date as we work out the details.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to reconnecting soon!

Come and ignite your creative potential! We will work with physical theatre, masks and improvisation from the inside out, always looking for a moment of truth rather than technical perfection. Emotions, internal representations and feelings will be harnessed to create meaningful performances.

We will:

  • Learn to trust our feelings and emotions and let them inspire us to express
    ourselves physically.
  • Learn how to relax and reclaim our bodies, not as society wants them to be
but as we inhabit them from the inside.
  • Work collaboratively and support each other in our artistic quest.

All bodies and abilities are welcome. In fact, diversity is a must!
