Established by Tomás Dietz in 1992, the Flamenco Centre is the pioneer of professional Flamenco dance tuition in Canberra. It remains Canberra’s premier training ground for Flamenco dance, representing the standard of excellence and authenticity in this field. With nearly 30 years’ experience in the industry, Tomás Dietz is one of Australia’s most respected and qualified teachers of this art form. Under his guidance you’ll experience professional, structured classes that explore and consolidate all elements to the critical Spanish standard, including foot work, upper body technique, castanets, expressive interpretation and performance choreography.

Tomás also coordinates the Flamenco Social Club (Peña Flamenca de Canberra), a social group open to the general community that strives to increase and enrich your experience, knowledge and appreciation of Spanish dance and Spanish culture in general. Activities are family friendly and range from video screenings, performances and discussions to fiestas and an informal singing group. If you’d like to join the Flamenco Club, please email Tomás.
